Torrey vessels are constructed from fallen needles of the rarest American pine tree, Torrey Pine.
One of the world's rarest trees, naturally growing Torrey Pine is found only along the coast north of
San Diego snd on Santa Rosa island near LA. Along with these pine needles,
the couple works with sea grasses and other natural materials gathered from around the beach to
design some of the most beautiful vessels in the world. Using the ancient coiling technique adapted
from the Indians of the Southwest, their creations reveal the energizing influence of modern art. |
